Zero reportable action from the Closed Session. Council recognizes the passing of local coach and proceeds to the flag salute. Public comment begins and speakers are limited to 3 minutes.

New HR manager is introduced for his first day. Public works says SB1 projects are wrapping up. There should be significant traffic delays as a result of the road 200 project. New speed signs in the Madera ranchos. People going 10 over speed limit will see “slow down” message.

Madera County recognizes indigenous people’s strength and immeasurable positive impact they have made to American society. Madera recognizes October 10th as Indigenous People’s Day.

North Fork resident Fred (of Native descent) acknowledges and appreciates the recognition, but it should have been done a long time ago. It should have never happened. He thanks the Board of Supervisors for the move towards recognition of Indigenous people.


Citizens can keep up with Measure T does on http://KeepMaderaMoving.Org. There is a discussion over how Measure T has been leveraged for significant local savings.

Madeline from Leadership council expresses concerns over Measure T becoming permanent tax. They urge the board to not approve the expenditure plan without modifications.


County BOS votes 5-0 to approve water systems improvement for Madera Ranchos.

There’s an October 12th town hall at Madera Ranchos for Measure T education.

Tomorrow there will be a virtual town hall meeting for Measure T. Supervisor Leticia Gonzalez says that information is available on their social media.


Supervisors continue discussions from 9AM closed session. Meeting was said to have ended rapidly. Items were voted on in a quick and decisive fashion. Other than one public comment regarding Measure T concerns, everything seemed to have been generally agreeable.
