Council OKs spending on senior lawn care, Heritage Home program; gives green light to various community events
Good Afternoon ☀️Today, I’ll be live-tweeting the Cleveland City Council meeting for #CLEDocumenters @CLEDocumenters @NeighborUpCLE
01:35 PM Jul 13, 2022 CDT

Link to the meeting: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zy8HFj5IVhc&feature=youtu.be
41 people are watching.

Council Attendees: Griffin, Bishop, Conwell, Gray, Hairston, Harsh, Kazy, McCormack, Mooney, Polensek, Santana, Slife, and Spencer.

The meeting begins with the clerk dispensing the journal minutes from the last minute. There was a lot said during this portion, here is a recap. https://t.co/HaqJPNM2u9

Typo in prior tweet, meant to say journal minutes from the last meeting.

Councilman McCormack wanted to speak on Councilwoman Maurer’s new interest/role on the lead safe advisory board. Looks forward to her presence on the board.

Despite missing the initial roll call, Councilwoman Maurer has joined the meeting.

The council members have gone around to give their condolence resolutions. Lots of names mentioned here, prayers to all families who are hurting due to the loss of loved ones. May the families find peace. 🕊

Councilman Starr has joined the meeting. Him and Councilman Conwell will be giving a brief presentation.

They are presenting a trophy to the NE Ohio Regional Sewer District for their continued dedication to serving the communities of Cleveland. They hosted a utility resource event that helped educate residents on resources available to them.

Motion to suspend the rules (Spencer) and the legislation just read be placed on final passage. Seconded by Santana. Anonymously passes (15-0)

675-2022 (14 Yay/ 1 Nay)
684-2022 (14 Yay/1 Nay)
All other resolutions pass unanimously.
Typo in prior tweet: Unanimously* not anonymously.

The meeting concludes with Griffin revisiting the congratulatory resolutions. Meeting adjourned, the next meeting will be Wednesday August 10th.

Also worth nothing that councilwomen Howse and Maurer who were not present during roll call, did come in during the reading of the resolutions.

A bit of a different tempo during this meeting. Mostly reviewing resolutions that had already been discussed in detail and voted on. Not a lot of conversation amongst the council as a result.
