Commissioner – Jose Leon Barraza made a comment for the Christmas event that PARCS held. “It was nice for families and the community to get together.”

Commissioner made a comment on tree Fresno achieved of planting hundreds of trees at malaga community center. A good way for the community to have beautiful trees along the trail.

Commissioner – Maiyer Vang encourages the public to join the Hmong cultural event for the new years event. Hosted at the Fresno fair grounds.

City Administration makes comments for working on the funds for FY24 and she explains the critical fee for their services. On behalf of the City manager staff “they wanted to expressed their appreciation of the board for helping the PARCs of Fresno and also to the public.

Director of parcs Aaron said, “Last Thursday, annual audit and was submitted and sent to council. We will sent that copy to the board for your files and review. Wanted to highlight of our warming center that was initiated last Tuesday. 336 members visited those centers. “

Brandi N, Fresno resident, wanted to ask if the agenda could be sent earlier. She wants to more time to evaluate the agenda. She explains she helped host the warning centers and wanted to express her concerns of the marketing. She explains that social media is not very inclusive

Brandi explains if it’s possible to ask for more funding for the warning centers. She explains her and her team worked hard on passing out flyers for the community members that need it. She also would like the centers to be open winters for the public and possible serve food?

Latanya Beamon, Fresno resident, she explains how she should apply for funding of measure p and the community event. She explains you could get funding up to 30,000 a year.

Dr. S, Fresno resident, explains her concerns with sunset community center. City of Fresno is taking a lead role of the after school program. Update of the cultural arts plan, a presented by Jennifer solis. She explains the update of the phase 1 of the outreach program. Phase 2 will began once we release it to the public for review.

Jennifer explains the multiple methods of research of outreach parcs have done. She explains they also offered multilingual outreach. Dr. Carolina S. Is explains her gratitude of the art council. She says she was able to take her first grade class on a field trip at Arte Americas. She wanted to note that school based events is important for students and something to keep in mind.

Latanya, Fresno resident, explains that the children love to be very active in arts and music and kids loves sports and being active in their community. She is concerned about the kids in west Fresno that certain parks do not offer bathrooms.

Brandi N explains that the board should listen to the public comments and a lot more investments with artist themselves. She urges that underserved communities should have art. It would be nice for more programs for kids ages k-12th.

Commissioner – Jose Leon Barraza explains that the city council is allocating of money to be made for arts culture programs. He asked, “what is the funding exactly for? How will you capture the arts to represents the underserved communities.”
